Concept
Refreshing citrus with a low alcohol content
Lemon Citron is the follow up to Ringo Pomme Pomme, the beloved sake that tastes just like apples.
Lemon Citron was born from the same concept of using only the classic sake ingredients of rice and water to create a whole new sake experience.

Background
Lemon Citron is a collaboration between Mottox and Sakai Shuzo of Yamaguchi Prefecture.
Mottox is the creator of Craft Sake, a range of original sake from across Japan that combine a diverse range of attention-grabbing flavour profiles with chic product design.
Sakai Shuzo is located on a sandbar in the Nishikigawa river, where soft water springs forth on the brewery grounds.
Taking this soft water, and combining it with a wealth of brewing expertise including the deft use of white koji, the brewery have created the unique lemon flavours of Lemon Citron.

Features
-
The name
“Citron” is the French word for lemon. Sometimes a simple name is the best, and Lemon Citron is named for its remarkable flavour profile.
-
The flavour
Lemon Citron is a Junmai sake, and is made without using a single drop of lemon juice or flavourings. The key to its lemon flavours is in the use of white koji, a rare choice in sake making, that produces high levels of citric acid.
-
Low alcohol
Whereas sake has an average alcohol content of 15%, Lemon Citron’s is just 6%. Its mellow lemonade feel will make you forget you’re drinking sake.
