Okuda Sake Brewery

Tsugi-no-Midori Tokubetsu Junmai Karakuchi Genshu

Made with a unique yeast found in the brewery, the result is a dry, fresh sake with a wine-like profile.

The smallest brewery in Akita Prefecture, the Okuda Sake Brewery has been making sake for over 340 years. Tsugi-no-Midori is made with a proprietary yeast found living in the brewery rafters. Known as “MS3”, the yeast produces high levels of acidity giving a fresh, wine-like profile, in a dry style that pairs with a wide variety of foods.

Flavour profile

Brilliant, crystalline transparency. Ripe peach and pears with notes of fresh herbs. Fruity flavors of ripe apples and umami from the rice are supported by a structure of lively acidity and a gentle astringency on the finish.
