Bicchu Awaza Sparkling Junmai Nigorizake

A fluffy and soft nigori sake.

Awazo is a collaboration with the Shiragiku Brewery of Takahashi, Okayama Prefecture, a sparkling nigori with light, fluffy flavours. It’s sparkle is made in a similar fashion to Champagne, with fermentation taking place in bottle. Its nostalgic flavour profile, light and gentle, can be enjoyed by anyone.

Flavour profile

Gentle aromas of pear with delicate notes of hazelnut that add a touch of richness and sweetness. A pleasant, yoghurt-like acidity from the Koji spreads over the palate. An impression of delicate, fresh umami is left on the crisp, dry-leaning finish.

Staff comments

A sparkling nigori sake, fresh aromas of melon combine with yoghurt notes from the koji. This crisp sake’s dry profile is great for Spring and Summer – or you can try using it in an “Awazo mojito” by mixing with crushed mint leaves, ice, soda water and a slice of lemon for extra freshness.
